In a deeply disturbing case from Faridabad, Haryana, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly raped and murdered by her father-in-law. Police say he buried her body in a 10-foot-deep pit right outside their home. The victim had been missing for nearly two months before her body was finally found.

Family Involved in Hiding the Crime

According to police officials, the victim’s mother-in-law was also involved and has been taken into custody. Her husband, Arun Singh, is still on the run. The main accused, Bhoop Singh, admitted during questioning that the crime was pre-planned. He has been remanded to police custody for another three days for further investigation.

The woman was originally from Shikohabad in Uttar Pradesh's Firozabad district and had married two years ago. She lived in Roshan Nagar, Faridabad, with her in-laws.

Murder Planned and Executed in April

According to a senior investigating officer, the murder was planned on April 15. On April 21, the victim’s husband allegedly mixed sleeping pills into food for his wife and sister, making both of them fall asleep. That night, Bhoop Singh entered the victim’s room and raped her. Afterward, he called his son to help him kill her and dispose of the body. The body was buried in a pit that had been dug in advance. Bricks and cement were used to cover the grave. The family told neighbors the pit was for a new sewer connection.

Body Found After Nearly 60 Days

On June 21, the body was finally discovered under a concrete slab. Officials, including Naib Tehsildar Jaswant Singh, supervised the exhumation. A murder case has been filed against Bhoop Singh, his wife Sonia, son Arun, and daughter Kajal at Palla police station.

Initially, Arun told the victim’s family she had eloped. Unconvinced, they urged the police to investigate further, leading to the confession. Police are now considering more arrests as the investigation continues.
